What This Scan Assesses
The small bowel plays a key role in digestion and nutrient absorption. Ultrasound imaging allows clinicians to examine the bowel wall and surrounding tissues in real time, helping identify inflammation, thickening of the bowel wall, fluid collections or other abnormalities.
