Ultrasound is one of the most widely used diagnostic imaging tools in modern healthcare. It allows clinicians to visualise internal organs and structures in real time, helping identify changes, monitor development and provide reassurance when questions arise.
At Cocoon, our ultrasound service is designed to provide accurate imaging in a calm, supportive clinical environment, allowing time for careful assessment and clear explanation of findings.
Every scan is performed by an experienced sonographer, ensuring high standards of clinical practice and a thoughtful, patient-centred experience.
Our ultrasound services support a wide range of diagnostic and pregnancy-related assessments, from abdominal and soft-tissue imaging through to specialist obstetric scans.
What To Expect From Your Ultrasound Appointment
Your ultrasound appointment will last approximately 30 minutes, allowing time for the scan itself and for your clinician to explain the findings and answer any questions.
During the scan:
- You will lie comfortably on the examination couch
- A small amount of ultrasound gel is applied to the skin
- A handheld probe is gently moved across the area being examined
- Images are captured in real time
Ultrasound is painless and does not involve radiation, making it a safe and widely used diagnostic imaging technique.
Your Results
In the vast majority of cases, you will receive:
- Ultrasound images from your scan
- A full written clinical report
Both are typically provided on the same day as your appointment, ensuring you leave with a clear understanding of your results and any recommended next steps.
Where appropriate, your clinician will guide you on further investigations or follow-up care.
