Sickness is expensive. Catching it early is the answer.

Sick pay now starts on day one. Every lost day costs more than it used to - and most of the conditions behind long-term absence are detectable long before anyone feels ill.

Not instead of private health insurance. Alongside it – and ahead of it.

PMI is a safety net: it activates after something goes wrong. It doesn't screen, and around two-thirds of covered employees never claim in a given year. If you don't have PMI at all - like most UK employers - your people are relying on an overstretched NHS, and problems surface only once they're serious.

Cocoon at Work sits in the space before all of that: actively looking for problems rather than waiting for them, for every person, from day one - at a fraction of the cost of cover.

And we'll be honest about the edges: we won't stop anyone catching a cold, and no one can guarantee an absence figure. What we screen for are the serious, slow-burn conditions - the ones that keep people off for weeks, not days. Catching those early is better for your people, and for everything that depends on them.

The credentials behind every result.

Frequently asked questions

About the screening

A 44-biomarker blood screen alongside blood pressure and BMI checks. Every result is reviewed by our partner GPs, with a follow-up appointment included so employees get a proper conversation about their results, not just a printout.

Most appointments run quickly and can be scheduled around the working day, either at our Harrogate clinic or via our mobile unit (launching soon), so employees don't need to take significant time out.

Yes. Results go directly to the employee and their GP reviewer. Employers never see individual results, only anonymised, aggregate insights if that's something a business wants to track over time.

Our clinical team at Cocoon, a CQC-registered clinic in Harrogate, with clinical oversight from our partner GPs for every result.

A single screening gives a snapshot, but repeat screening builds a picture of trends, catching gradual changes in things like cholesterol, blood sugar, or liver function before they become a diagnosis. For employers, that means earlier intervention, fewer long-term health issues, and a workforce that's engaged with their own health rather than reacting to it after something goes wrong. Our trend reports can also help to inform your employee health and wellbeing strategies.

Commercial and logistics

It depends on how your business wants to offer the benefit. If your existing PMI or Health Cash Plan already includes a screening benefit, we can often activate that at no extra cost to you. If not, our direct scheme is £210 per employee, per year, with no setup fees.

It depends on what a business already offers. If employees have PMI or a Corporate Health Plan that includes screening, we can activate that directly. Otherwise, businesses can sign up to our direct scheme.

Yes. Many Health Cash Plans include an allowance for health screening. We'll check what your plan covers and activate it directly where we can, so employees can use a benefit they're often not aware they already have.

In many cases, yes. A lot of PMI policies include a screening or health assessment benefit that goes unused. We'll help confirm what your policy covers and handle the activation, so there's no admin burden on your HR team.

If you are working with us directly rather than via PMI or a Health Cash Plan, then yes, absolutely - we can come to you.

Very possibly. If your PMI or CHP already includes a screening benefit, we can often activate it directly. Get in touch and we'll check.

There's no minimum - call us for a chat and we'll always help if we can.

Pick a time that works for you using the booking calendar below, or call or email us directly, and we'll take it from there.

Trust and safety

Cocoon is a CQC-registered clinic, regulated for diagnostic and screening procedures as well as maternity and midwifery services. That means we're held to the same regulatory standards as other CQC-inspected healthcare providers, covering everything from clinical safety and staff competency to how we handle and store patient information. Your team is in the hands of a properly governed, inspected healthcare provider, not an unregulated screening company.

Very secure. We use Semble, a specialist patient management system used widely across private healthcare, and our GP portal is led by DocTap, so employee health data is handled through established, healthcare-grade systems throughout.
