Understanding Your Health
Women's health needs evolve throughout life — from reproductive years through perimenopause and beyond. Our bodies go through remarkable changes, and understanding what's happening beneath the surface can be transformative for how we feel and function. Our Women's Health Screening is designed to address the specific health concerns women face, providing clarity and actionable insights tailored to your life stage. We look at the full picture: hormonal balance, nutritional status, metabolic function, and the interconnected systems that affect how you feel every day. At Cocoon, we take women's health seriously. We understand that fatigue might be related to iron deficiency or thyroid dysfunction. That irregular cycles might indicate hormonal imbalances that are treatable. That mood changes during perimenopause are real and deserve support. And that every woman deserves care that's tailored to her unique physiology and life stage.
What to Expect
Your appointment takes 75-90 minutes and includes an in-depth consultation covering your health history, current concerns, menstrual history, and goals — this is your time to be heard. Physical examination and vital signs. Blood draw and any additional diagnostics by experienced phlebotomists. Initial discussion and personalised recommendations. Comprehensive results within 5-7 working days including a detailed written report with reference ranges and personalised recommendations, a 30-minute follow-up consultation to discuss results and a clear action plan tailored to your findings and goals. Many of our female members tell us that this consultation is the first time they've felt truly heard about their health concerns.
Core Assessment
Our core assessment covers the essential markers of women's health, providing insights into the systems that most affect how you feel and function.
Hormonal Balance
Oestrogen, progesterone, testosterone, FSH, LH — the key hormones that regulate your cycle, mood, energy, and overall wellbeing.
Thyroid Function
TSH, T3, T4, thyroid antibodies — thyroid issues are far more common in women and can cause a wide range of symptoms.
Metabolic Health
Blood glucose, HbA1c, lipid profile — metabolic function affects energy, weight, and long-term health.
Nutritional Status
Vitamin D, B12, folate, ferritin, iron panel — nutritional deficiencies are common and can cause significant symptoms.
Liver & Kidney Function
Comprehensive metabolic panel — these vital organs affect everything from energy to hormone processing.
Cardiovascular Markers
Cholesterol profile, blood pressure — heart disease is the leading cause of death in women, and risk factors can be detected early.

Your Questions Answered
If you're primarily experiencing menopausal symptoms and want focused support, the Menopause Specialist service may be more appropriate. This screening is ideal for a broader health assessment or if you're unsure what's causing your symptoms. If you're uncertain, contact us and we'll help you choose.
Yes, though some hormone levels will be affected. We'll interpret your results accordingly and may recommend timing tests around your pill-free week if appropriate. Let us know what contraception you're using when booking.
No — we strongly recommend keeping up with routine NHS screenings. Our cervical health add-on can complement but does not replace your regular smear test. Prevention is about doing both.
