What To Expect

Your Ultrasound Appointment

Your ultrasound appointment will last approximately 30 minutes, allowing time for the scan itself and for your clinician to explain the findings and answer any questions. During the scan you will lie comfortably on the examination couch, a small amount of ultrasound gel is applied to the skin, and a handheld probe is gently moved across the area being examined while images are captured in real time. Ultrasound is painless and does not involve radiation, making it a safe and widely used diagnostic imaging technique.
